What's THIS photo doing here?? No brakes, that's what. This is Joe with his flatland BMX bike
at the Bandshell in Central Park. They hang out by the figure skaters, the skateboarders and the
freeriders. Joe rides with no brakes, so my hat's off to him. He's one of a small but growing
number of BMX riders going brakeless. Often it begins when the brakes just fail and you don't have money to
fix 'em. After that, you notice that your control is getting better. Guys are riding ramps and freestyle
BMX w/o brakes as well.
