Michael Roach -
old skool meets new skool

Michael Roach, a 63-year rider in Encinitas, California, holds it down with the tri-geek roadies out there. He rocks a threadless new-skool setup with the MTB riser stem turned upside down. He writes:

"I really enjoy checking the bikes on your site. So, I thought I would show you mine.

At 16.5 pounds, because of the generic Taiwan aluminum frame and fork, I use it to chase the carbon/fibre riding tri-athletes up and down the coast highway, for fun and exercise.

They are usually impressed at what the bike and its 63 yr. old pilot can do without brakes, and with a fixed single gear."
